Dreadlocks On Straight Hair
As a multi-ethnic dreadlocks salon we can create dreadlocks on many different hair types and textures. Depending on the length and texture of your hair, we use several different methods or a combination of methods to help you achieve your dreads. It is no secret that Black / African American hair is easier to loc than straight or Caucasian hair. However, we can still get your dreadlocks done whether you have curly, straight, wavy or kinky hair.
Some of the methods we use on Caucasian/White dreadlocks are backcombing, instant locs, crochet, latch-hooking and wrapping. Each method has it’s pros and cons. For example, backcombing takes less time than latch hooking but forms thicker locs instantly. On the other hand crochet locs are instant and beautiful but takes more time so it costs more to get done.
Don’t get caught up in using tons of products to start your dreadlocks if your hair is straight. If you are in Palm Beach feel free to stop by our Salon or book an appointment online for a complimentary 15 minute loc consultation. This way we can access your hair, see the length and thickness and tell you what method would work best for you, how long it will take and what the cost will be.
